Are there people who shouldn't have an MRI scan?
Magnetic Resonance Imaging, or MRI, is a safe procedure, and most people who need a scan can have one. MRI not be recommended for people who have metal implants including cochlear implants, pacemakers, implanted hearing aids, some aneurysm clips, among others. People with exposure to metal fragments such as sheet metal works or welders may require an x-ray first to make sure they are safe for an MRI. Special arrangements can be made, please contact us.
